The SolarBright torch utilizes modern solar technology with a traditional product. The solar panels are based on those used for years with calculators. The photovoltaic panels provide enough electricity to charge up efficient lithium batteries. In turn they provide 3.6 volts to power the three ultra bright LEDs. Also rechargable through a USB computer connection.

The torch has three light modes. The first is the brightest and on this setting the fully charged batteries will keep the torch working for at least an hour. The second mode is slightly less bright and allows the torch to work for just over two hours. The third mode is a flashing light, useful for emergency situations.
