The Dorcy Portable Fan/Light operates on 6 D-Cell batteries and has a rather compact 7" X 9" size. The fan/light has a sturdy plastic handle that also doubles as a support for propping-up it up. You can also unfold a plastic piece in the back that will serve as a base. The fan has 2 speeds and both the light and fan operate independently with small switches near the base.
